BETTER DESTINATION FUND
This endowed fund will advance important strategic initiatives within Northwestern Athletics by allowing the department to respond deftly to new opportunities and challenges as they arise and providing broad and flexible support for areas of the greatest need. In the ever-changing landscape of intercollegiate athletics, it is critical that resources are available to invest in emerging priorities.
The two key areas of current need are:
Additional Mental Health and Performance Resources:
Adding a sports psychologist focused on individual student- athlete wellness and athletic performance.
Improved identification/qualification tools and professional development resources for our coaches and staff to enhance recruiting efforts.
FACILITY ENHANCEMENT FUND
With the opening of Ryan Fieldhouse, Wilson Field and the Walter Athletics Center, along with Martin Stadium and the new Welsh-Ryan Arena, every one of our student-athletes and programs has access to unmatched facilities. However, an opportunity still exists to enhance a number of facilities that have a direct impact on our recruiting, developmental and competitive success.
Broadly, these expendable dollars will ensure we are able to keep existing facilities ahead of the curve in terms of technology, equipment, and branding. Top priorities include:
Combe Tennis Center: locker room, scoreboard, and lighting
Norris Aquatics Center: scoreboard, signage, and branding
Ken Kraft Wrestling Room: locker room, signage, and branding
COMBE TENNIS CENTER
NORRIS AQUATICS CENTER
KEN KRAFT WRESTLING ROOM
WILDCAT EXCELLENCE FUND
The Wildcat Excellence Fund continues to provide resources that sustain the fundamental programs at the core of Northwestern Athletics. As operating costs continue to rise for items like providing additional funding for nutrition and maintaining our new facilities, it is critically important that we increase our annual support base.
Contributions to the Wildcat Excellence Fund directly impact the student-athlete experience through five core areas:
Pledges of $25,000 or more can be made to any of these funds over a one to three year period. Recommended fulfillment schedules are below:
|TOTAL PLEDGE||YEAR 1 PAYMENT||YEAR 2 PAYMENT||YEAR 3 PAYMENT|
Additional Giving Opportunities
Beyond these new initiatives, there are many impactful ways to support Northwestern student-athletes:
Ryan Fieldhouse, Wilson Field, and the Walter Athletics Center
Our world-class facilities on the shores of Lake Michigan have transformed the student-athlete experience. Recognition opportunities are still available.
Vice President's Fund
A critically important resource for Jim Phillips to use on unforeseen and one-time expenditures for items like postseason travel, technology and equipment enhancements, and leadership development opportunities for student-athletes.
Each program relies on donor support to provide coaches with discretionary financial resources to sustain or reach a championship level.
Wildcat Fund Parent Partners
Parents of current student-athletes who make a gift to any area of the Wildcat Fund are part of this program.
Champions for Wildcat Women
Launching in fall 2019, this initiative is open to donors who support women's varsity programs and former female student-athletes who give to the Wildcat Excellence Fund or a women's varsity program.
On behalf of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff, thank you in advance for your support of these important initiatives.
